I am a Montessori fan. DD was in a Montessori preschool for 3 years until she had to start full day Year 1 at an IS. My son (4.5 yo) is still in Montessori and will transfer to IMS in Sept since I plan to let him continue in IMS Primary.

DD just got admitted to IMS primary, and I am struggling to decide if I should let her stay in her present school or move to IMS. Her present school is loving and caring. We also like it very much. Her teacher feels that she is ADD/ADHD and I got her assessed by a psychologist. The psychologist thinks that her case is inconclusive at this point and things will become more obvious when she is closer to 7 (she just turned 6). DD is forgetful, often daydreams in class, etc.

I understand the morning work cycle in IMS primary. So I am afraid that by leaving time management to her, her daydreaming will be out of control and not much work will get done. Even now, when it's time to do her work in her school and all the kids are working on it, she will look at other kids' work, talk or just drift away until the teacher constantly reminds her that time's up - then she will scribble something at the very last few minutes (and of not very good quality).

Since we need to decide within a week, any thoughts will be appreciated.

Hi All,

My kid has this interview for year2 at one of the ESF schools.
The problem is that they have asked for the latest school report card.
He goes to an international school and has improved a lot in past 2-3 months. However, the school report does mention that he has difficult connecting phonics for reading (term2) and needs writing improvement (term1). both term comments do mention that he has improved

Now my dilemma is that shall we show this report at ESF interview? i know ethically we should show it but the thing is that we have been working so hard on him in past 3+ months , including tution classes, and he has improved (although still not fluent in reading ) a lot. I dont want the report which is as of March first week to create a wrong impression for him (the report does not have a date). i dont want the interview to read the report and then speak to him . already thingking that this kid has some problem or may be lags behind the school

this interview is very important to us , please help me decide what shall I do

thanks a lot

Thursday, April 26, 2012

A kidnap attempt on the daughter of a barrister who was recently awarded HK$1.2 billion in an acrimonious divorce ruling was foiled yesterday.

The suspected kidnap bid happened near the ESF International Kindergarten (Hillside) on Stubbs Road about 3.50pm.

Four men, armed with what looked like pistols and knives, surrounded a seven-seater vehicle soon after the girl got in.

Her quick-witted driver, a 60-year- old woman, used the vehicle's central locking system to stop them.
We are currently reconciling our place availability for the coming academic year and sincerely hope that we will soon be in a position where we can confirm a place for XXXX. As soon as we do have further details our Admission Office will contact you.”

Thank you!
