Chinese International School (Primary)

SUMMARY

Established in 1983, Chinese International School (CIS) seeks to integrate both Chinese and English to form a “dual heritage.” Dual language and multicultural, the school has a student body of around 1400, with students coming from more than 25 different countries. Whilst Chinese remains compulsory across all grade levels, other languages such as French and Spanish are also taught and the school follows a curriculum based on the IB Diploma.

DESCRIPTION

CIS offers education for students from reception all the way through Year 13. Roughly one quarter of graduating students started studying at CIS in reception. 100% of Year 13 students pass their exams and around the same percentage continue their education at university. Aside from academics, CIS students are actively involved in extracurricular activities and community service. There are clubs for art, sport, the environment, drama, music, religion, recreation, debating and service. These activities are made possible by the school’s excellent facilities which include gymnasiums, a swimming pool, an auditorium, libraries and a drama studio.
